Star Mega Do 3

leave a comment »

At View From the Wing, Gary Leff unveils all the great details of the Star Mega Do 3. The complete details are found at Milepoint. The sponsors of the program are United, Lufthansa, and Hyatt. The European portion of the program begins on September 5, 2011, and it has the option to start in New York City, fly the A380 to FRA, and then visit the Lufthansa facilities at Munich airport. Then return to the US with Lufthansa to Chicago(ORD). The LH flights earn actual EQMs flown and cost $900 in coach(S class) and $2400 in Business(Z class). The North American section takes place from September 7 though September 10, 2011. For those wishing to only travel within the US, the program starts in Chicago, goes to Montreal, and ends in Denver. Air travel is by a chartered CO 737 which earns a minimum of double EQMs for coach travel costing $750 and up to quadruple EQMs for first class travel costing $1675. A great benefit to the program is that three one night stays at the official Hyatt hotels of the program will earn the person Diamond status through 2013.

Grand Hyatt Kauai $239 September 1 thru December 23

with 2 comments

Due to a TravelZoo offer, the Grand Hyatt Kauai is offering an excellent rate of $239 per night from Sept 1- Dec 23, and a $249 rate from Aug 5- Aug 31. This rate is fully pre-paid and cannot be changed or canceled and provides an upgrade to a courtyard and pool view room. A direct upgrade to an Ocean View room is available for $70, but Hyatt Diamonds will receive this type of upgrade due to their elite status. This offer must be booked by June 24, 2011. The hotel completed its full renovation in April of this year. This offer is also available as a Limited Time Offer rate from Hyatt. I recommend booking the LTO rate category as it is the same as the TravelZoo rate, and it will make certain to earn Gold Passport points and credits for the stay. I have stayed at this hotel myself, and I find it to be one of Hyatt’s best properties in the US. The grounds are beautiful, and the amenities in the resort are excellent. The direct booking page for the Grand Hyatt Kauai is found here.

Hyatt Regency Waikiki $139 With Buffet Breakfast

with one comment

Due to a pool closure starting May 31, the Hyatt Regency Waikiki is lowering their to $139 a night including a full buffet breakfast for two from June 13 until September 30. The rate requires prepayment and can not be changed, canceled, or refunded. If you are able to make certain travel plans, this is a very good offer. You must book by June 18. When making the booking, go to Hyatt’s site and choose the Limited Time Offer rate. It should be the same as the Travelzoo rate; however, some readers have reported problems receiving Gold Passport Points for Travelzoo rates booked on Hyatt’s website. Booking the Limited Time Offer eliminates any potential problem.

This offer is found on and Travelzoo.
